Usage

言うようがない「-しようとしても、それをする手段や方法がない」 there is no way to ~; cannot possibly ~; impossible to ~ (due to lack of means or ability)

Examples

ローマの印象を聞かれたけど、体調を崩してずっとホテルで寝ていたので、答えようがなかった I was asked about my impression of Rome, but since I was sick and stayed in the hotel the whole time, there was no way I could answer.

さっきの選手の演技は、文句のつけようがないくらい素晴らしかった The athlete’s performance earlier was so amazing that there was absolutely nothing to criticize.
