{何/いく} + Counter + か

Usage

When combining 何 or いく with a counter and か the meaning becomes "some".

今日は、雪で授業を休んだ人が何人かいたそうです。 Today, I heard there were some people who didn't attend class because of the snow.

お土産にTシャツを何枚かかった。 As an omiyage I bought some shirts.
