にもかかわらず
Usage
XにもかかわらずY means "Y in spite of (the fact that) X". This sentence construction is used when Y is the case even though Y is usually not expected from X. In spite of; despite; although; though; nevertheless -> Express suprised feeling by unexpected result
Examples
雨が強く降ってきたにもかかわらず、サッカーの試合は続けられた。
Even though a strong rain came, we football game continued.
問題が難しかったにもかかわらず、試験はよく出来た。
Although the questions were difficult, I did well on the exam.
