Vます-form -~~ます~~ + っぱなし Indicates the undesirable lengthy continuation of a situation that normally would be terminated promptly

服がぬぎっぱなだ。片付けないから、部屋が汚い。 You just take your clothes off and leave them lying around. You don't put them away, so your room is untidy

こらっ。ドアが開けっぱなしだよ。早く締めなさい。 Hey, you've left the door open. Hurry up and shut it.
