Usage
つまり is used to rephrase or restate what has just been mentioned or stated.
Examples
来週、母の弟、つまり、叔父が中国から遊びに来ます。
Next week, my mother's brother, in other words, my uncle, will be visiting from China.
両親は２０年前、つまり、私の生まれた年に結婚した。
My parents got married 20 years ago, which is to say, the year I was born.
