Usage

It seems that - Expression describes the speaker has conclusion from observing a situation. Used with the adverb どうも when the speaker wishes to emphasize the tentative nature of his or her conclusion.

Examples

人が大勢集まっていますね。事故のようですね。パトカーと救急車が来ていますね There is a big crowd here, isn't there? It looks like there may have been an accident. A police car and an ambulance have arrived.

咳も出るし、頭も痛い。どうも風邪をひたようだ。 I've got a cough and my headaches. I think I might have caught a cold.
