Usage

(V / いA / なA ~~-だ~~->な / N ~~-だ~~->の) + (おかげで / おかげだ) is used when a unfavourable result is produced.

事故のせいで、授業に遅れてしまった。 I was late to the lesson because of the accident.

風邪薬を飲んでいるせいで、眠くなった。 Because I had taken some cold medicine, I felt sleepy
