〜うが...なかろうが

Usage

「でも...でなくても、関係なく」whether ~ or not; regardless of whether ~ exists/does not exist (formal / written). Combines volitional form + negative 「ない」→「なかろう」

会員だろうが会員でなかろうが、当日はみんな２割引だそうです Whether you are a member or not, it seems everyone will get a 20% discount on the day.

重かろうが重くなかろうが、荷物は手で持っていくしかない Whether it’s heavy or not, you’ll have no choice but to carry the luggage by hand.
